Qazi Asif

Qazi Asif is a journalist, researcher, media trainer and documentaries make. He has started journalism career during 1990 with the daily Jang Karachi. Later, he worked as a reporter in Dawn Group of Newspapers, Express Group of Newspapers, Daily Times. He joined ARY News Channel in 2008, when electronic media came to the country. He worked as the chief reporter of three major Urdu TV channels, Waqt News, News One and Aaj TV, in Karachi.During his career, he conducted interviews with national and international leadership. These include former Prime Minister of India Vishwanath Pratap (VP) Singh, former Prime Minister of Nepal Manmohan Adhikari, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina Wajid, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Mir Murtaza Bhutto etc. While working in the daily Jang Karachi, he tried to play the role of a bridge between Urdu speakers about Sindhi literature, history, poetry so that they could know what modern Sindh is thinking. During this time, he conducted interviews and discussions with prominent Urdu and Sindhi writers, intellectuals, and singers, including Zarina Baloch, Abida Parveen, Jamal Abro, Amar Jalil, Afaq Siddiqui, Mazhar Jamil, Ali Ahmed Brohi, Mehtab Akbar Rashdi, Mumtaz Mirza, etc. He was remain engage with research due to his personal interest in history. Recently, one of his books, “Sindh Ten Years Before Pakistan”, was published. Earlier, a book in Sindhi and one in Urdu had been published on the murders of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Shaheed Murtaza Bhutto. There is also a book in Sindhi on the MRD movement. A book in English was published on Mohenjo-daro. For the first time, he has prepared detailed and modern guides on Makli and Mohenjo-daro. He has made documentaries on many historical places and issues of Sindh. Still doing this work. He has also been providing training regarding modern media in universities and press clubs across Pakistan.
