
Suraya Manzoor
Dr suraya Chandio, born in 1994 in Badin, Sindh, is a medical doctor and social activist with a strong connection to the cultural and social history of her region. She completed her MBBS degree in 2020 and has since worked in clinical and emergency medical settings in Karachi and Islamabad. She is actively involved in social and civic work and remains associated with a political party, reflecting her commitment to public engagement and social justice. She serves as vice president of the Manzoor Chandio Welfare Trust, focusing on humanitarian service and community welfare. Her academic and intellectual interests extend beyond medicine to history, culture, and social theory, with a special focus on the historical experience of Sindh. She is particularly interested in marginalized and overlooked historical narratives, regional identity formation, and cultural memory. Her work emphasizes women’s empowerment, social justice, and educational access. She approaches historical discussion through critical, interdisciplinary, and evidence-based thinking. She aims to contribute to documenting and preserving Sindh’s diverse historical heritage. Her engagement with this initiative is guided by dialogue, academic openness, and inclusive intellectual scholarship.
